The great one took 708 wickets in test matches. However, that may go down to 702 in years to come, depending on the ICC.
Warnie took 6 wickets in the ICC Super Series Test Match against the World XI. As it stands, the match was given full test match status. However it is not unusual for the ICC to remove this status as they have done it to World XI matches before. There was a fear if he took 705 or less that if they did strip that match of test status he would fall below the 700 mark.
The ICC may also choose to do the same with the Tsunami Appeal match he played in at Melbourne which was given full ODI status, which may strip him of a couple of ODI wickets.
It would be a shame if they did as it would mean he would no longer have taken over 1000 international wickets.
