i'm flying from buffalo to new orleans with a transfer in cleveland. i want to buy some liquor from duty free in canada (i live in toronto) and then take it on the plane with me, carry-on only, no checked luggage. is this possible or will the alcohol be confiscated?

Items bought on Duty Free Shops are accepted on carry-on baggage since these are assumed to be safe as ruled by the airport authorities.

You'll need to put any liquids/pastes/creams in a separate clear ziplock bag and send it through the x-ray so security can know what it is (I mean they're not going to start saying you can't carry lipgloss or eye drops at all, but they do want to make sure it's just that). There's no problem with actual alcohol though as long as it's closed.

Yes, and not because of it alcohol but because it is liquid. They dont allow and liquids or pastes or any of that stuff on the plane anymore

Well, you're not supposed to take liquids of any kind onto an airplane, but if you put a plastic cap on the bottle, you should make it through security alright.

If you where in England it would be confiscated, I think its the same procedure over there...sorry mate
