...reverse peoples' apparent dislike of him? Talking about his disgust of Saddams' hanging, he uttered his support of something his (and our) current leader abhors.
Will this year bring him the same respect amongst the public as Mrs. Thatcher eventually gained after taking the reigns in 1979...could be his 'capital punishment' confession may bring him the same supporters as Thatcher amassed, soon after she showed us her way of dealing with the less fortunate...and if so, will we be missing Mr. Blair this time next year?

OH DEAR...excuse me - it would be easy just to wipe away the question and crawl out of the woodwork sometime next week when the fuss dies down, but I admit my wrong...listened to Mr. Brown's 'admission' after getting in after long night on the tiles. Just got up, saw the answers to my question and immediately went into BBC video-news. I believe he said '...people - unlike me - who supports capital punishment'. At 6.30 earlier this morning, my head erased the 'un' and heard the 'like'.

Thank you for noticing my balls-up. As I say, it'd be easy to quickly erase the whole answer and not come on here for a few days - but after a cup of tea, thought it would be best to keep it on for a day or so to let y'all see even so-called serious questioners can be full-blooded halfwits sometimes.
Mea maxima culpa!

Gordon Brown does not support capital punishment:

""Even those people *unlike me* who are in favour of capital punishment found this completely unacceptable and I am pleased that there is now an inquiry into this and I hope lessons in this area will be learnt, as we learn other lessons about Iraq.""

Admission of the support for capital punishment might change the voting attitude of the people against Gordon Brown.

I don't read disgust at Saddam's hanging as support for capital punishment. What is your logic here?
