I use HBH Goldfish Nuggets but any brand of sinking pellets is great. They don't stay on the surface, but fall slowly through the water. This prevents the fish from gulping air so they don't get swim bladder disease. Also give them each 1/2 or one whole frozen pea with the skin removed, once or twice a week; this also helps them stay healthy. Good luck!

Tetra floating goldfish pellets.that way you can tell if the fish are eating it and what they don't eat within a few min you can use a net and take out so the food does not cause the water to cloud up or cause ammonia in the tank.
