Hi there, well it may depend on what type of pad you are using! Have you tried using an Overnight Pad? and make sure you use one with wings, thus stopping it from leaking out the sides! Make sure that your pads are either overnight or super when going to sleep, and put it on right before you go to bed so that it can absorb more! I used to have this problem also but using these methods it has become better, haven't have a problem for years now!
Good luck :)

I used to have super heavy periods before I started taking the pill. Even when I used the super pads, I would still have accidents.
I solved this problem by using a super tampon AND a super pad. In the middle of the night I would get up and change them. I didn't have a problems with leaks after that.

You probably have a heavier flow during the night.
Use a high absobency pad, like a night time pad, or pregnancy pad.
Use one with an anti leak core.
