I have script Suprevised in the past but it was always during production or right before production. I had a copy of the shooting script; no one asked for a lined script. I don't know what that is or why the lines are vertical instead of horizontal.
I thought a Scripty keeps continuity and a film log of the shots. Maybe do the Clapper. What is a lined script? How do I do it?
I have a list of shots for a commercial shoot. I don't see what I am supposed to line; it's all there. I am supposed to work one day this week. I need the money badly. I am good with continuity but I have never lined a script. PLEASE HELP!!
Thank you for all your answers & I apologize about my screen name; it's old and I cannot change it now without problems. No offense to anyone.
Thank you so much for your help.
Cheers,
MMK

During preproduction, a script is lined, meaning that a line is drawn between each of the shooting sequences in the script and each important element in the sequence is highlighted.

Lined Script - The script supervisor is responsible for keeping the most current version of the shooting script, and for keeping a copy of it as the lined script for the shoot. A lined script is a copy of the script with vertical lines drawn down the pages, indicating which takes cover which part of the script.
