At the beginning of 2006 I had to go away to a university where I didn't know a single person, 10 hours away from home. Some of my friends went overseas for a year while others stayed home. My boyfriend of the time broke up with me because I was leaving and started seeing someone else 3 days after he broke up with me. I was so hurt, I didnt think it was possible to carry on. But then I got to Grahamstown (where my university is) and I started making friends! It became so much easier for me, especially since the first day I was there, I already started feeling welcome and making friends with the girls in my residence. Plus I found out that I actually did know 2 people there, but just werent friendly with them. When I came home for the holidays, even though it was only for a short time, I got to see my friends and we had a great time! My friends who went overseas are all coming down for holidays this month, so I am getting to see all of them too! We keep in contact, so we don't feel like we're missing out on much, and even though I miss them like crazy, I can handle not seeing them as long as I eventually do get to. The moral of this story is that even though you are all splitting up, you will stay friends and you will get to see each other every now and then as long as you are willing to make the effort! As for the crush, that comment in the yearbook is perfect. He can take it however he wants to, and one day maybe he'll look in the book and decide to call you.

I'm not really sure what to tell you beyond, "that's life." Just wait until you graduate, then move, then move again. Friends always change...just make the best of what you have for now and it'll work out. As far as signing yearbooks, it has to be more personal than that if you care. Each person should get something different, lest you look like a robot with a one track mind.

You answer seems quite nice. The future will be good. You'll meet new people and life goes on. If you grow as a person then you will be content in any situation.
