I've been using bt for about a year now and starting last night on the bottom right corner it says "Checking firewall..." and it stays like that...for hours...and I can't download anymore.
Please help, thank you.

Bittorrent is not the best. The best is bitcomet. You will never have any problems. Hey, its my opinion. Maybe there are no seeds? But don't ever put down your firewall....thats a high security risk

Ive got the same problem, but as a new user. Ive come to the conclusion that it is not my firewall but my router. Im going to need to forward the port on my router. I suspect that port forwarding wont help you because you said that it was working for a year. Have you recently changed firewall programs?

It seems your firewall is just doing it's job. Any file sharing system is spy-ware as it allows others to search your files through an open port.

Go to BitTorrent's FAQ or forums to find out how to undo this. I am sure that this type of problem comes up very often.
