I am seeing more and more of these driving nightmares I mean a Dodge Neon? I have also chuckled to the sight of these same "monster wings" on such fire breathers as Hyundai's, Corrolla's and a (ready for this one?) Diahatsu!!
Why not just drive around with a neon sign on the back saying I am a big Fast and Furious (Bi and Curious) fan and my mom still makes my bed!

Modern aerodynamics just dont seem to trickle down to the kids today. A wing is placed on a car to create downforce for stability at high speeds. When were talking about CTR Yellow birds or 959 starships the wings make sense as exotic car engineers with wind tunnels understand. The end result of such wings as you have mentioned in no doubt would result in increased drag and effect fuel economy. That will obviously result in them working more hours at the local gag and puke fast food chain to put gas in the tank. Unless you have a 150 mile per hour plus car the wing is a waste of money.

The wing on the back of a vehicle holds the rear of the car down and increase traction to the rear tires. The problem with using them on a front wheel drive vehicle is the drive wheels are on the from of the car. How does this help dig the drive wheels into the pavement so the car hooks up better when the wing pushes the BACK of the car down? Kids have to remember what they see on the television on race day doesn't necessarily transfer to the car they drive on the street.

i'm redoing my truck, and am i going to distroy the look of it with a spoiler? No. Am i going to distroy the look with a flashy paint job? No. How about rims? No. 99% of people with a car flashed up has no power to back it up. I plan on dropping a 302 modified out to about 450RWHP. Yet i'm keeping my Ranger Completly stock other wise except for a few things (minor lowering for lower centre of gravity) new stock looking interior, I want it to look like an every day Ranger but when one of these little rice burners pull up beside me, i can show them what a REAL car can do, even if it is an eyesore. body work is for people who care about the looks. Engine work is for the people who really care about the looks the other guy will get when his little ricer is smoked by a rust bucket, think of the laughing he will get.

I agree with you, these kids get all excited watching the imports doing over 30mph in that fantasy movie and go crazy putting these ugly spoilers on little ricers... yes a Neon with a spoiler looks retarded. Well most of the cars do anyway. They just make themselves look ridiculous, and I like your name of that stupid movie... (Bi and Curious)!!! LOL!!!!!!

Now boys...boys...boys...why bring your mother into this?

If I am still making the bed of one of you in here, that doesn't mean you are a baby, or you're still my baby.

It just means that I am kissing your patudy until you get off your patudy and 'puter and make the @#$% bed yourself...

I do have hope... Now don't forget to turn the lights out when you leave!

Love,

~ Mom
