The magic ends when being your self implies become a jerk. WHen you were dating you wouldn't brush your teeth when she was around or you would't burp or do so many things that people start doing when they live together and those "personal" things sometimes have to be kept for yourself. Man sometimes can be so disgusting, or slopy and that kills the magic very quick.

It depends on what you mean by too much comfort. Be yourself, yes, but don't let yourself go by gaining weight, not looking nice for your spouse, and in general not putting effort into making your partner happy and attracted to you.

Totally. The women has to concentrate on changing her appearance and body shape and hair color to suit the ever-changing fantasies of her husband, because lord knows, he's entitled to DIFFERENT, and if it's not supplied, he'll go looking for it. Comfort has gotta be the number one killer of marriage.
