Yes, I am always barefoot -- everywhere. I often have shoes in the car, but pretty much never use them. When I am barefoot I stay barefoot.

Some places don't like barefooters -- retail stores and some hotels. Other than that, I have had no problems being barefoot in public and I do it every day.

You are not the only one that prefers to be barefoot outside in public. There is nothing illegal or immoral or wrong about being barefoot. People that haven't tried it don't know what they are missing -- too bad for them.

I'm always barefoot, summer or winter, for the past ten years. I only take footwear when it's below freezing, just in case I get stranded some place, but I rarely if ever need to put it on, not at all for the past two winters. I do it because I like it, it's so much more comfortable and healthy!
I get lots of reactions but not that many negative. Mostly people ask aren't my feet cold and doesn't that hurt... but they aren't really concerned about smell or real risks. I live in Europe and there are no "Shoes required by the Health Department" myths here; yes, myths, because in the US many people believe there are such rules but they're wrong, that's all an urban legend. And in countries where such signs aren't seen, the public rarely is much against bare feet.

Absolutely: I have always found it more comfortable to be without shoes. I remember eagerly waiting to be able to get home and kick off my shoes and get comfortable - then last year I discovered a group of "Barefooters" on yahoo who live barefoot as often as possible. Through thier site and links I found that there are no health dept. reg's. prohibiting customers from being barefoot, no laws against driving barefoot, tons of medical studies/advice and anicdotal testimony regarding the health benifits of being barefoot, as well as the reflexology mini-massages gained from experiencing the world with bare soles. I took my shoes off and off they stayed. I get a few looks or comments and they are split about 50/50 as far as being positive or negative. Now that I've experienced life from a barefoot point of view, asking me to wear shoes all the time would be the same as asking anyone else to wear gloves all the time and stifel the sensory pleasures of barefooting. So the answer is you're not alone. Thousands more are just like you in that the freedom and comfort of barefootin' is very desirable.

All the time!!! There are not many places I don't go barefoot. The manager at the grocery store knows me because I always come in barefoot. I love going barefoot everywhere. When I do have to wear shoes, it's usually just flip flops, which are easy to kick off. I drive barefoot. I go to restaurants barefoot. Often in the summer, I go to work barefoot, although I usually have my flip flops hooked onto my backpack.

It's a great feeling, and connects you to your environment. It's not against any law, and it's MUCH more healthy than closing up your feet in shoes!

Keep 'em BARE!!!

I pretty much go outside my front yard everytime barefoot to check the mail and things like that. The most public place I've been barefoot would have to be up the video shop for about six seconds, lol. There were like no people around. I did enjoy it.

When living on our farm I would go outdoors barefoot all the time, even in winter to feed the cats and our dog (not to mention a skunk who relished the cat food!)-

I have driven the car barefoot more than once and was stopped for speeding but being gray haired and elderly, the patrolman did not have me step out of the van or he would have seen me without shoes-no doubt worthy of a fine.! And I deserved one!

I am usually barefoot in the house or patio and don't bother to put on shoes when unexpected company drop in-so they are used to my idiosyncrasies by now I guess.

Only doing quick errands around my home, or parking the car in the garage. But I usually take off my shoes and socks in friend´s home, and I stay barefoot there. I suppose I should save time leaving barefoot my place

Yes, I leave my house all the time without shoes and walk around without them for a long time. I don't bother putting on shoes to go outside. I have shoes so much. Sometimes I will be walking outside by my house and will actually stop and take off my shoes a carry them. I LOVE BEING BAREFOOT!

I love to walk barefoot as much as I can. Unfortunately, I live in a colder climate. In warmer weather,I do everything barefoot, including driving. Many people will tell you that driving barefoot is illegal, but in my state, it is not illegal. I never worry about the passerby thinking it is weird. People whom love to walk around barefoot all the time are not the type of people that really worry how others view them.
Good Luck, and Keep em Bare!

When I lived in a different apartment complex I would sometimes go across to the vending machine barefoot. The complex I live in now is too big, and I live too far away from the machine to go barefoot. Especially since the parking lot is a little rougher and harder on the feet in a few places.
