like can you leap out from a 10 story building using a parachute? what is the minimum height for parachuting?

Depends on the parachute your are using and of its opening mechanism.
The war type parachutes (round and relatively small) can be open BEFORE the jump (jumps from a 50m tower!).
The new types parachutes (rectangular and wing shaped) open rather quickly, and a jump from about 70m is sufficient to break your fall in a safe chute.
If the chute is folded within its bag, it takes about 4 seconds to open, then 2 seconds to break your speed. That would be 80m + 20m, or 100m minimum.
I would not try it anyway...

If you can inflate the parachute by mechanical means before jumping off a 10- sti\orie building you may be lucky to land safely. It can only be a demonstration jump. When it comes to jumping in emergency, it may be far better to jump off with some cushioning material tied around you and adopting an embryo position while reaching the ground. Safe heights for normal Para jumps vary from five to ten thousand feet from the ground

No it would have to be higher.. In an aircraft on a static line jump its usually about 10,000 feet, Freefall it can be 30,000 feet.. From a Building I dont reall know but I would think about 20 story's would be about right..

you would have to be pretty HIGH to jump out of a perfectly good airplane or jump off of a building. roflmao
