Hmmm..personally, if you thinking on having a great honeymoon treat..the perfect choice for having honeymoon will be:-

1. Perak - Pangkor Laut Resort http://www.pangkorlautresort.com

2. Langkawi - The Datai or The Andaman

http://www.theandaman.com

3. Terengganu - Tanjong Jara Resort

4. Cameron Highland - Cameron Highland Resort
http://www.cameronhighlandresort.com

5. Penang - Shangri-la Rasa Ria Beach resort
http://www.shangri-la.com

all of the above, are the most romantic places to be..with each have the best beaches, great food and environment...

Malacca...however, is great with all the historic places, also great on food and shopping on the antiques stuff..i wont recommend the beaches..not so nice over there...to many rocks!
And as for the coaches, there are plenty! you can get them at the Puduraya Bus Station in Kuala Lumpur, which located in the heart of the city and very nearby the Chinatown or Petaling Street. The fare will be around MYR 10.00 - MYR12.00 per person and depends on the condition of the bus...there are normal and luxury coaches..so make your choice..

Discovering the whole Malacca will only takes you around 3 - 4 days as its a small states.. its also the better to ask your travel agent company to arrange your tours and sight seeing to fully discover Malacca...!

Have a great honeymoon rendezvous!!

Malacca is one of the most historic cities in Malaysia, founded about 600 years ago by a renegade Sumatran prince who subsequently converted to Islam. Occupied first by the Portuguese then the Dutch and lastly by the British who left in 1960 or so.
Malacca has a very interesting history.
It's hotels are excellent with some very quaint and historic ones on 'Millionaires Lane'
Not been to the beaches so I can not give information on this.
There is a coach from Kuala Lumpur direct to the Malacca Sentral it takes about two hours and is very comfortable and safe. Get your hotel to pick you up at the Sentral bus station or get a taxi about 15 Ringits to your hotel in Malacca proper.
I really like this most beautiful of Malaysian cities.
To discover Malacca you will need to stay for three to four days.

Melaka/ Malacca is a historic town...
Romantic- Malaysia is full of beautiful beaches but Malacca doesnt have the best beach in Malaysia. I would recommend Pulau Redang( Redang Island) I love Redang.it is only open from July- August because the rest of the year is spend cleanign up the corals and the area. It is beautiful and unpolluted and the snorkelling there is fun. IN the night you can lie down and watch the shooting stars and Redang is private enough if you want to be discrete , and fun enough if you want to have fun playing beach volleyball or kayaking or watch the colorful fishes.

Langkawi in my opinion is a bit polluted and not as well cared for as Redang. But it is more commercialized so you have food there and more of a balance of touristy things and the beach.

Pulau Sipadan is also a good choice.

Malacca is more of a historical city than a coastal state. I think you can take a bus from KL to go there. I do not know how many days it will take to discover Malacca, maybe 2 - 5 days, not sure though. They have good hotels in Malacca.

Anyways, the best beach in Malacca is Pulau Besar, you have to take a ferry to go there.

Though if you are talking about beach, I don't highly recommend Malacca. But for history, then yes.

Hi.
Honey Moon?

I dont think Melaka is the best choice in Malaysia for Honey Moon..
1) Melaka dont have beautiful beaches, but they do have good food & nice place for sight seing historical place to visit.
if u like history u should go there
2)Yes, there's a lot of coach from KL to Malacca. (but not that many beaches)
3) About 3-5days. Depends on where u want to cover.

Anyway after all these comments, i think you should change your plan to go for Langkawi Island or Penang Island.
These place is much more better than Malacca for Honeymoon.

Good luck.. By the way i'm Malaysian.

Melaka, or Malacca is a laid back, historical city, and doesn't take long to explore. But I found that the people there are nicer than in the usual hotspots.

I think there is a direct coach. Probably from KL Sentral station, but it would help to ask around.
