Wikipedia has an excellent article on solution of cubics. the formulas are tedious, but will yield all the roots.

As a matter of fact we do not usually solve them.
\1\ We just guess one real root then we calculate 2 others.
/2/ if ‘guess’ does not help we find a real root by means of numeric calculations.
\3\ there is a formula that gives direct roots, but this formula is so weird!
/4/ if you’ve got just 1 cubic equation, ask! And smarties here will help you.
\5\ if you’ve got a big time bunch of cubic equations or cubic equations emerge constantly in your life, then me or some1 else could teach you that formula or compose a PC-program implementing this task.
