Idealy I would like some input from a San Francisco native. But anyway, I read an article that says the one of the state legislatures is trying to pass a bill called SB 49 that would prohibit them from even building a stadium in the surrounding areas, like Santa Clara, which would force them to move completely out of the San Fran region. The 49ers have a rich history, and the way they improved this year a bright future, so I'm kind of lost on this issue.

The thing that bothers me about it, being a life long die hard fan, is that this quite possible could force the 49ers in LA or something if the state pursues this issue too a hard, consequently they wouldn't there would be no more 49ers. How could you do that to one of the best franchises in NFL history?

And for those of you who say "They can't win", I'll bet everything they win the division in '07.

andrew, the niners page talked about sb 49 and the fact that it might force them out of the entire region.

It's a stupid bill. It would prohibit local governments from offering incentives to sports teams to move within 100 miles of the team's location. It could indeed cause a team to move even further. Somehow someone thinks that this would "force" the 49ers to stay in SF (even though the current proposal in SF is a toxic dump site on the old naval shipyard - yeah, sounds good!).

In short, it's sour grapes. Just let 'em move 35 miles south to Santa Clara and quit whining about it, I say.

I am not from San Francisco, but close enough. As with building a new arena in any city, it costs money, and San Francisco is just trying to protect its money...Second, I dont know if you have ever been to Frisco, but it is very...very packed, there isnt anywhere to build, unless you go up. That is why it like NY is known for skyscrapers. and they have been the SF 49ers since the beginning, and we want to keep it that way.

Also I think we dont exactly have a winning team to put millions into it. Especically with Oakland Raiders on the other side of the bridge.

there is a lot once you assessment the two places that it incredibly is only too lots to enumerate. they are actually not something alike and that i've got lived in the two cities. I dont comprehend why human beings consistently asking approximately those 2 cities at the same time. i think of massive apple is a lot greater like l. a. because of the fact L.A. is crammed with NYers and is rapid, massive funds, and the land of probability in each thing like NYC. San Francisco is slower, tinier, air purifier, like Boston in many approaches, well mannered human beings, small transit equipment. i might think of you will possibly evaluate Seattle with massive apple, not San Francisco because of the fact it incredibly is a vast city.

couple things

ask a question like why did the giants get a stadium?
because they sell tickets and they got bonds.

i seriously doubt the 9ers will move from frisco there is no indecation of it and just cause they don't have a billion dollar dome who cares. if they are your team you will go see them in my back yard if you had to. right?

and yes the 9ers have a good chance at the playoffs next year smith is finally "getting it".

also l.a. probably won't get a team any time soon anyway let alone the 9ers look what happened with the raiders they were out of there so quick because l.a. doesn't support a pro football enough they have usc for thier fix.

I am a Cowboys fan that used to live in silicon valley and i think its bullshit the S.F. Giants (ZERO championships) get a new stadium and the S.F 49ers (FIVE championships) get nothing. Candlestick's days are unfortunately numbered though
