You don't think some problems are being solved? Do you read? More food is produced now on less land than ever before. People live longer than ever before. New medical advances are made nearly daily. Operations are done on eyes in the office to enable blind to see again...immediately! Many cancers have been cured or arrested (not all but some). Automobiles are safer and use less fuel than ever; planes are quieter, faster and use less fuel. Air conditioning is more efficient and allows people to live in previously uninhabitable parts of the world. News way are being found yearly to cut down on pollution. Racial and cultural tolerance is at an all time high in the developed countries (not perfect, but less long term battles than centuries ago).
Live birth rates are higher than ever in the history of the earth. NO ONE needs to starve in any western country, if not for alcohol, drugs of mental illness. More people are able to have an education now than at any time in the history of the world.
World events are made public within seconds of it happening.

DUH, I think at least SOME things have been worked on, what have YOU been doing to help the world?
