I am a sophomore in highschool, and i have loads of questions regarding college.

Say i didn't do too swell in my first two years, but did really great in junior yr. do colleges usually see the GPAs from all three years, or just junior yr at first? I'm asking this because i looked at the class of 2006's college application profiles for my school. it showed the students highest SAT scores, and it showed their 6th semester GPAs...Why is it that it showed only the sixth semester gpa, and not a cumulative one?

Also, im thinking of taking SAT II subject tests this year. I was wondering, if i dont do too well on one, and dont cancel it, will it look bad on my transcripts?

Well the universities usually look at your cumulative GPA of all the four years and where you rank in your class. Like are you in the top 10%, top 25% things like that. So if you do good these last two years you should do well. Also they take into consideration of how well you do on your SAT's or ACT's. That usually determines whether you get into the college or not so study hard on that. Those are the things that really count and join clubs if you can and extra curricular activities because it shows leadership and they like things like that. It will look good on the applications you will fill out as well as on the scholarships. Well hope that helps.

Your transcripts are 9th through 12th grade. All grades that come at semester for those four years count towards your records. About SATs, they do not go on your transcripts. You submit the score you want the college board for the college you are applying for to see. If you don't do good you can continue taking it over and over, or switch to the ACT (which is more like a high school test but looked at the same by colleges) and there are many other tests that colleges accept scores from as well. I'm a Senior this year, I asked all of this in the last couple years too. Don't worry, just do better for the next three years to bring your over all GPA up and do as well as you can on your SATs. Be sure to still have fun amidts all that home work!

As far as what a college will look at. The think they will see most is your overall GPA. They probably won't pay attention to your individual semester GPAs. Keep your cumulative GPA up and you should have no worries.

As far as not doing too well on any SAT test. If you retake it and do better then a college will look at the best score. Now if you take it and don't do well but don't retake it, then yes, they will see it.

Negative, the colleges will look at the communalitive GPA from all four years of high school and depending what state college or private university you will be attending they may make a decision based mostly on SAT or ACT scores.
