I was a few cm for a two to three weeks before my first was born. The birth went pretty fast. It is great that your body is doing some of the work now instead of saving it all for later.

1cm is not really an indication that you'll be going into labor. Sit back, relax, and get some rest. You might still have some time to go.

Soon is a very relative term. You may go into labor within a day or two but if this is your first baby it could be a couple weeks. Your doctor may have told you ways to help start labor but the baby will come when he/she comes. I can highly recommend walking, sex and bouncing gently on a large exercise ball, but only if your doctor has told you it is okay. There are other things like evening primrose oil and nipple stimulation but these things should be discussed with your doctor. I wish you all the best and try to keep busy, this is the hardest part, the waiting.

Possibly, but it might still be a couple of weeks. You can stay dilated at 1 or 2 cm for a while with no problems.

you would possibly want to be at a million cm for weeks previously the toddler is in a position to be born and initiates exertions. i recognize how uncomfortable those very previous few weeks are, and how excited we get to easily be done and carry our toddler, yet not something will commence exertions except the toddler is waiting. and some domicile inductions might want to be risky. walking can help you you prepare for exertions- and help you get a superb nights sleep, and sex actual received't damage. My suggestion is to loosen up for those very previous few weeks and relax as a lot as you may. savour your significant different. those first few weeks after the toddler are born are large....and hard. you is basically not pregnant continuously, I promise!

Not necessarily. You could stay this way for awhile.

But you never know! 37 weeks is not too early!
