Mistake lol..

to the person that commented on my English..Yes I know that most Filipino has better English than most Americans.. and I have never complained about Filipino's English in my life.I don't care what anyone says.. You were required to learn English we are not required to learn anything and English is probably at the bottom of our list. Its a hard language to learn and if i had to and was from somewhere else I wouldn't bother..its not a priority here..maybe some people yes but others no.. as long as you can communicate with others it doesn't matter.. I have not complained about anyone here as far as English.. so take your complaints to another question and ask it there . My question was for anyone and everyone that is not in the Philippines and not Filipino.. Why do you all insist on answering. At the present I have a high opinion of the Filipino people ,please don't change that for me..Please place your gripes somewhere else ,they aren't an answer here..thank you .

I want to also add to the Filipino that commented about my English that i worked at one of the call centers for many years that our stupid Americans took to the Philippines to give your people jobs at a mere fraction of what they paid us.. Your snobbish comments are not welcome here.I notice that I cannot respond directly to you in your email. You have worked in a call center but dont have intelligence to open a channel of communication between you and the person you are insulting.. doesn't make a lot of sense. If i wanted I could insult you and your country for the actions of the stupid Americans that took our jobs and laid us off and are paying you peanuts compared to what we were making and the people that have had to deal with you the ones that bought the stupid Americans products were idiots that formatted and sent them back to call centers in the US.. I am not condemning everyone there.. just people like you are racist .If you dont have anything good to say don't say it.

So come on over and you'll still have a chance to sit back and and sip that drink.

What do you mean? Love to travel or Love to stay in the Philippines.
If you are a retiree from the USA, you will love to travel or stay there because the dollar is 49 times powerful than the Philippine peso. There are beautiful places in the Philippines that you could never imagine in your whole life time. The different cultures will fascinate you. If you are a linguist, you might try to learn the 87 major dialects. If you are a vulcanologist, you will enjoy the many beautiful volcanoes. If you love nature, there are so many natural waterfalls. If you love beaches, they abound everywhere. Visit Boracay in Caticlan, Aklan, and you will experience the coolest white beaches in the country if not in the world, no matter how hot the sun is shinning at noon time. By the way, the beaches in Boracay are not made of sand. They are made of a naturally occurring powdered corrals. If you like to eat fish, the fishes that you buy at Walmart or Cosco are only a speck in the Philippine Ocean.
Take note: the hottest temperature in the Philippines is at noon time in contrast to Texas where it is between 5 PM to 6 PM., give and take 30 minutes.

i love the philippines....my husband and i are planning to move there and spend 6 months in the philippines and 6 months here in the states. we are retired so this will be just great! as our money will go a long way over there.

the filipino people are very nice and hospitable. please do not change your mind about the filipino because of comments made above by some folks trying to cut you down....this is due to a few filipinos that are insecure and they are still harboring illwill due to the u.s.a. having the philippines under them during the commonwealth era.

who care who speaks better english or who has a PhD. in english. and who gives a crap about the call centers and all that .... and who are complaining about whoever's english is better than whom. hold it! it is the friendship between the u.s.a. and the philippines that encourage the filipinos to learn english. so it was the americans who brought english to the philippines. stop showing off how great your english is compared to americans. we do not want to hear that and i think you are rude to even mention it.

if you are working in the call centers and someone complained about your english, it is the accent that is not understood. but just remember, that american english is different from australian english, british english and like filipino english. but they are all still the same language with different intonations and a few different words. so, stop being condescending to people in this country because you aren't anything special and neither is your grammer, my dear filipino friend.

just answer the question that is asked and keep the rest of your opinions to yourself because it is filipinos like you that are destroying the image of their countrymen... i have met many many filipinos and they are nice. i have never met a smart alec before. i guess they are all concentrated in yahoo answers.... thank heavens you don't run into them when you visit the philippines......shame! shame!

oh, by the way, if i made any mistakes in my grammar or sentence structure, i hope i do not get a reply or reprimand from anyone here telling me how bad my english is compared to their "perfect" english.....

I am a dual citizen, Philippines and Canada. Believe it or not, I am planning to retire in the Philippines when the time comes. I don't want to stay in the Nursing Home when the money I would be spending in the Nursing Home will be more than the money that I'd be spending in the sun.

This is not to answer your question because a lot has been said to give you an idea and help you to decide. I hope you don't mind, I just want to comment on your English. Some American Companies that are into call center business are saying the our English is deteriorating I guess we're not. We still better than an average American.

If you know how to fit in and if you don't take advantage of the people's hospitality then you're a perfect candidate for a happy white early retiree. Forget about Katrina, that should have been your cue, it's still not too late.
