If so, what are the factors?
Would there be a good time in the next 2 years for a Gemini?

Mhiaa is correct is saying to check what sign the moon is in. I study astrology too, but in cases like these-I just feel we are not in control of these things no matter what sign the moon is in. Also, you really should have your charts done to make sure that there WILL be children-and no possible blocks for this to happen in either chart-and a composite chart also.
