The one that basicly IS YOU. Well, my question is: Is that voice coming from my brain or my soul? In other words, when my brain dies, will I cease to exist as me, and my soul will go somewhere else. OR is that voice coming from my soul, so no matter or not if my brain dies, my soul (ME) will always be.
Tricky question, but please just assume that we have souls.

That of the mind which is "soul" has the ability to observe and direct that which you call your thoughts, feelings and self-will. Thoughts, feelings and the personal ego manifest due to the transpersonal soul making contact with a physical reality. Thus, the difference between mind and soul is the difference between personal awareness and transpersonal awareness.

First you need to understand the difference between your brain and your mind. The voice you hear comes from your mind not your brain and the voice continues even after your brain ceases to function once the Soul
withdraws from your body at the time which people call 'death' (which is but an illusion) since there is no such thing as death to the mind or soul.
One thing more . The real voice of 'Spirit' comes from the Heart Center which in the Bible is called the 'small still voice'. This is the voice you want to follow and listen to. It is the voice of your Divine Self.

The words key to your issue are: "voice IN MY HEAD telling me to - " A psychologist told me that the defining difference between diagnosis is that - schizophrenic hears voices OUTSIDE their head speaking (can be managed, but not cured)- - multiple personality / dissociative identity disorder hear voices INSIDE their head speaking (can be cured with lengthy therapy with a psychologist specializing in DID ) The important thing here is what the voice is saying, and that you DO NOT act on it. Same with suicide. The more you sit stewing and worrying, the worse your thoughts will be. Make a plan, get yourself busy with doing things or exercise. The sitting and thinking is making you worse. Call your public Mental Health or your family Dr. Explain your symptoms to a counselor or psychologist or psychiatrist. You may be offered a 72hr stay at a local hospital. This is to help break the cycle you're in, and to jump-start your treatment of therapy and medications that will minimize your symptoms. It's to help return your thought patterns to a more realistic balance by connecting you with other people. You have asked for help. This is how it works to get the help you need most.

Braveheart is wrong. I am a schizophrenic (DDD patient) who has "heard" voices in my mind that weren't the usual little friendly voice I use to think with. Those voices (sometimes many, sometimes female as well as male, always unwelcome) are not generally friendly and may be so loud (in chorus) as to force one to his knees. I don't believe they were caused by my own mind and this is why I am considered still psychotic in spite of not having heard any voices in decades.I also think with out a voice.

In fact they tell us humans that most of our activity is done unconsciously. Like when you are driving a car, listening to and concentrating on a radio program, and go through a stop light unaware of whether it was red or not, you were driving guided by your unconscious mind. And they even go so far as to say you usually act before you have the conscious will to act.* Does not that subconscious or unconscious mind have to be taken into account in any theory of a soul. Maybe it is your soul! WHAT AWAKENS YOU EVERY MORNING?

When you consign yourself to the unconscious state of sleep at night you trust you will awaken in the morning; you always have. You may need an alarm clock to awaken you but what "hears" that alarm go off? You are unconscious, unfeeling, unaware of any senses, nearly like a state of death.Yet you awaken every morning sometimes as if you had an inner clock (which you do but are too unaware of it). What happens when you die?

No one knows because no one has ever returned to tell about it. Yet the belief in a life after life is as ubiquitous as there are religions in the world. (Some religions have tried to get a monopoly on this belief.) BECAUSE OF THIS WIDESPREAD BELIEF i THINK THERE MAY BE SOMETHING TO IT BUT WHAT REMAINS A MYSTERY.

I think it's actually both. The mind voice in our heads only has a "voice" because we are trained to communicate through language. The SOUL voice doesn't use language but feelings which go with us.

Well, I believe that the voice in my head is just me thinking instead of talking... Is just ME, my brain, my heart and my soul. When I die my voice, my heart and my knowledge ( Brain ) will go with me.

I feel the brain is the center of the soul. No one has come back from brain death (real brain death, not just being dead). If you are brain dead your body is just an empty shell, even though it can still be kept alive by means of modern technology.
By the way, I believe out of body experiences by people who have temporarily died are hallucinations experienced by people whose brain is lacking oxygen and who are trying to make sense of what's going on, and what they expect to happen if they do pass on for real.

First let us understand one thing that we are not this body or mind or intellect nor the soul We ARE THE UNIVERSAL SPIRIT in the soul called " I ",
The voice you hear is called the 'nadha' which comes from the soul, which belongs to the universal spirit

I believe your soul goes somewhere else and it will always be you.... where our soul goes it open for debate, heaven, hell...reborn. will we remember, we will be the same, no one knows for sure. I think brain, soul are connected...atleast here, your brain helps you to realize your soul. Ok so maybe none of this makes sense, but its my thoughts

I for one believe that my soul is inside my body in the same shape and form as my outer body, so everything that my regular body has my soul has as well.
