teeth a child gets and usually has at 6 months to a year. She did not get her first tooth tell 2 months after her first birthday, the second followed about 2 months later, scence then she has not gotten any new teeth. She hasnt even been showing signs of teething. I have spoken with her doctor and he said that as long as her hair and nails are growing, then her teeth would come. this was six months ago!!! She has a dentist apointment in feb, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a child this close to 2 only having 2 teeth and what I should look forward to at this dentist visit. Thanks

It should not be a problem. The Dentist will probably x ray them to double check. My kids all had late teeth, and then they will fall out late also. In first grade when all the other kids teeth were falling out, my son did not lose his first teeth until almost 3rd grade (and, yes the dentist had to pull those, but not any of the ones after that)
One good thing about late teeth, they are stronger and seem to be less prone to cavities. My sis is a hygienist and says the longer they stay under the gums the better teeth they will be!
Don't sweat it, she'll be fine!

That's really unusual but does happen. I had a coworker who's son had the same thing and then when it was time for his teeth to come out he'd always end up having to have them pulled because they wouldn't let go. I don't know what causes that ...maybe the dentist can shed some light on it for you. By the way my coworkers son had nice teeth and no other problems so try not to worry too much about it. ;-)

Did you start your daughter out on solids late? Sometimes the teeth come in when they are needed and if you had her on milk alone for a lot longer than normal that could have caused them to just come in slow. The dentist may do an xray to make sure that the teeth are there and well alligned in the gums. My daughter got her first tooth around 6 months and a bunch came in right after that first one.

I've known people whose babies didn't get their teeth until really late, even some as late as yours. I think what they'll do at the dentist appointment is take xrays and make sure the teeth are all there, and see if there's anything preventing the teeth from coming in;

Everyone develops at their own pace. Three of my four children didn't get their first teeth until after the first year, but they all came it and look great. Your dentist will let you know if there's a problem when you go.

The dentist will probably tell you that she is a little slow cutting her teeth but not to worry.
