Not only would I pull the plug but I would savage it by reformatting the hard drive (similar to brain-washing in humans LOL)

If they were in a vegetable state, then I would consider them to be dead already. I consider the human mind to be the true indicator of being alive. So I wouldn't hesitate to pull the plug in such a scenario. If their mind were intact, then they could make the decision for themselves. I would of course advise them against it, but ultimately I would have to respect whatever they choose. The true dilemma lies in a situation where the person is conscious but mentally incompetent (either because of brain damage or being under the influence of drugs). If I knew they could never recover, I would have to seriously consider pulling the plug.

Destroy my computer? No. I'd erase my hard drive then put my backup disks in place and off I'd go.

2 words... Format Disk...

I'd restart my hard drive with one of those suckers, and pop in my backup disk after I was done... no harm, no foul
