Limewire - allows you to connect to other computers and search for music. Peer to peer file sharing. Mp3's, videos, software, etc.

Torrent - allows you to search for torrents which can be mp3's, videos, software, games, etc.

In most cases, torrents are good for full album downloads, where limewire is better for getting each song individually.
