Just built a new house and have a Carrier- Performance 80. I was always told to save money you need to close the air vents, but it seems like I am turning off my furnance blower due to lack of air. This have been going on for 2 months probably, have I damaged it?? Thanks!

I assume that by air vents you mean the combustion air. If this is the case, you certainly will NOT save money. The furnace will be starved for air. Additionally, the lack of combustion air causes the fuel to burn incompletely. This can result in CO build-up indoors.

Who ever gave you that info should not be advising on such things. It's obvious they do not know what they are talking about. Open the vent, allow adequate combustion air and get a carbon monoxide detector to make sure your levels are ok. Good luck.
