Okay, have you ever heard of a game called Gears of War? Don't get me wrong, I like playing the game but, since it came out thats practically all my husband does. What do I have to do to get my husband to take a break from it and pay alittle attention to me? I have tried all the usual sexy outfits, dinner and movie, dates and practically throwing myself at him, but, he STILL spends most of his time playing that stupid game. It probably doesnt help that he is laid of for the season (he works as a wildland firefighter) and would like to spend his time off playing video games and relaxing, but why can't he do that while I am at work and then pay attention to me when I get home?

I have told him upfront how I feel, he'll apologize, be okay to me for a day maybe two and then its right back to the normal game playing.

And...I have played the game with him too. I just get bored of it after a while cause I am not as good as he is at playing. I too get tired of getting my *** kicked in the game.

I also don't think I should have to beg my husband for some "alone time"

And it's only the first game out of a trilogy.

As much as you may try, you can't stop the Cole Train.

Your only hope is to ask him for a little special time with his "Hammer of Dawn."

He'll understand.

I'd recommend one of two tactics.

1. Start reminding him of all the fun things you two used to do, and that he used to do with friends also. And

2. Sit him down and be blunt. Let him know this game is consuming his life, and he will start losing important things soon because of it. Things like work, friends and YOU most importantly. Remind him that eventually, he'll stop playing and he will have absolutely NOTHING to show for it for all those hours he invested in it. Wouldn't he rather have nice memories of the time you two spent doing fun things and with friends.

None of this may work, as this may be an addicting escape from real life. I don't know what to recommend otherwise.

Oh my gosh he get's Game with-drawl hahaha! at least he has tried to give it up a little

Gears OF WAR ROCKS! He may eventually lose interest with the game...but by then HALO 3 will be out! and it will start all over again.

hhmmm this is a tuff call. You just gotta sit him down....preferably in a room WITH NO TV and talk to him eye to eye! Make sure now that when your talking to him you have his FULL ATTENTION.

Just talk to him. Tell him that you would like some more of his attention. See if there is a way both of yall can win. Maybe bang him while he is playing his game. Or start playing it with him that way you can spend time together.

Tell that you feel neglected and that you want him to pay more attention to you or take the video game and hide it until you guys figure out something that work for both of you.

OMG are married to my son? :)
It is an addiction the same as drugs and gambling.
My son is hooked on the darn things too and my daughter-in-law is going nuts.
Best thing we've found so far is just try to talk to him and tell him how you feel and try to get him to set some limits.Good luck

Don't you no men are just little boys and like to play games. He knows what to expect from you and what you look like nothing new or exciting there. You need to let him think he is losing you to someone else.He is taking you for granted and he knows you aren't going anywhere. He is playing his game so now it is time for you to play yours.

Invite the mailman in and do him in front of your husband. I bet he will stop playing the game then.
