At age 40 now, I don't seem to get erections the way I used to and need a lot of stimulation to get just semierect. I don't seem to get a real hard erection anymore.

I could probably benefit to lose 20 pounds and do not have heart disease or high blood pressure, diabetes or any other disease that I am aware of.

Is there anything I can do to improve the erections?

it's not too soon to ask your doctor for: viagra, cialis, levitra, penis inections, penis suppositories, and/or a penis pump. 20 lbs. overweight shouldn't really impact your erections. if you are on any medications, check them for side effects.
ED can strike a man at any age. you may think about having your testosterone levels tested (family doctor or an endocronologist). Testosterone replacement is easy and can have some very good results.
you may be experiencing performance anxiety, also. be easy on yourself. don't get so discouraged by your lack of response to stimulation. it happens to EVERY guy, but only a small percentage of men are willing to admit it and seek professional help.
at age 58 i became TOTALLY impotent. i let it go for over a year.
finally, i saw a urologist who suggested penile implant surgery.
after 8 weeks of recuperation, i'm a new man. our sex life has NEVER been better.
i'm telling this story just to let you know THERE IS HELP AVAILABLE. ED is not a problem you can solve YOURSELF.
go for some assistance. Best of Luck!

All sorts of things can cause problems of this sort. Nervousness, shyness, worry, sleepless nights and so on and several of these may combine when you're with a girl you've never been with before. Try getting to know her a bit better before jumping into bed with her and see if that helps. Just be grateful that you can get it up at all, quite a lot of blokes can't without using a pump or Viagra.

Yeah, acetyl-l-carnitine at 1 gram twice daily has been shown in human trials to improve erection quality over time (may take two weeks to start to notice improvement according to studies). And ALCAR is good for you, too.

You might also want to supplement with a standard multi-vitamin for men along with a little extra zinc, which helps to increase testosterone levels a little over a number of weeks.

Also you should lose weight and exercise to help improve circulation to this part of your body, and to the rest of your body as well...

A lot of times the big thing that you have to think about is anticipation. As you get older, many of the things that used to excite you may have become common place. One thing I have done is to put a ball gag in my mouth and stimulate my anus with a cucumber. Then I pretend I am my mother being violated by a pirate. That should do it for you.

It is clear that you are having sex with unattractive men or women. Upgrade to newer and more attractive model and see how you go. Oh, no offence to your partner I am sure he/she has a lovely personality. If you insist on staying with your unattractive partner, try to get your grubby mitts on some viagara.

Exercise and diet play a "huge" roll in this problem. Also the less you use it, the less it wants to be used. Ensure you perform maybe,.,.,. weekly maintenance on it and you should see some improvement

exercise is definitely a good way to go. the more fit your body is, the better off you are.... in many ways. if that's not an option you may want to try male enhancement products..
