Your first reaction upon hearing the news that a long-time friend is gay

It would surprise me, but ten years is a long time to be friends, so it's not like you don't know him! He's still the same person. You weren't embarrassed of him before, so there's no reason to be embarrassed now. It's fine.

I just found out my brother was gay after 23 years. By being mean and close minded to him, there is nothing to gain from that. By accepting who he is you have a awesome friendship to gain (keep I mean). And plus if you are having a bad "reaction" as you call it and turn your back on him then it shouldnt have even bothered you to the point you had to ask the question. That would just show that he is not your friend and never was. If he truly was your friend noone in there right mind would throw a friendship out the window for a reason like that because good frineds dont come around that often.

its ganna be super hard to deal with
but you should accept him for who he is
but then agin. no guy would really want to
be seen with a gay guy. but still
if hes a really good friend of yours then just stay like that
you will feel wierd about it yes, but if he starts makeing moves then i think you should re-consider.
