Can a snake eat its own tail?

How much can he eat? Will he dissapear completely?

some times they do, i have seen a pic of a kingsnake eat its own tail and swollowed like half of its body, it just let go after awhile

he can eat his tail but he can't his whole body

I don't think that a snake would.
