Sounds like a bacterial infection that needs an antibiotic. Likely, it will not go away without an antibiotic. You must get to the doctor asap. The odor could be the least of your worries...if there's an infection, it will slowly eat at your tissues, and if left untreated for too long, can make you unable to ever have children.

Doctors see infections all the time and think nothing of it. You could go to a free clinic where you don't know anyone if you're uncomfortable going to your regular doctor. They'll take care of the problem quickly and easily. Within 3 days, no more odor. Within 7 days, no more risk of permanent harm.

Vaginal discharge with a strong odor can indicate a number of things, anywhere from Bacterial Vaginosis (the opposite of a yeast infection) to a sexually transmitted disease

If you are not comfortable with your doctor, go to an OBGYN. They may be able to fit you in on an emergency basis. A pap and std test will let them know what is going on. In the meantime, yeast infections are caused by your female area being too alkaline, so vinegar and water douches can help counter that. Bacterial Vaginosis, however (fishy odor, cottage cheese discharge) is caused by the body being more acidic, and can be helped by a baking soda and water douche. Those are not available over the counter, however, so you will have to by the old fashioned kind and mix distilled water and baking soda together yourself.

That will only help to alleviate your condition, however, not cure it, so you need to see a doctor. Trust your instincts on this one.

You don't have to go back to the doctor. I had this many times, and the doctor prescribed Monistat Cream. You can get this now at your pharmacy without a prescription. I would use it as directed, only if it did not clear up, would I call the doctor and make any appointment. I have to add something here, antibiotics will kill any good bacteria you have and make you have a yeast infection. Just ask your doctor. Take alot of vitamin C when you are taking antibiotics and you will not get a yeast infection. From experience, before they allowed you to buy Monistat from your local pharmacy.

It sounds like you have a bacterial infection---bacterial vaginosis. Symptoms are discharge and a vaginal "fishy" odor. You need to see the doc for a prescription. They will probably prescribe metrogel or metronidazole. Both get inserted into the vagina, via a tube.

Take care of it now!! Don't use performs or anything to hide it, this usually just makes the odor worse.

This is NOT a yeast infection!!! Go to the doctor's

Sounds like a yeast infection. Get a doctor to prescribe to you ointment to clear it. Use it till it all finishes even if you feel better or it will keep coming back. Trust me its better to get rid of it than to hide it.

Hi, i'm so sorry to hear about your problem. Actually i heard from a lot of people and read it on the web that BAKING SODA helps. My friend had a similer problem (the discharge & smell) and she used a little of it with warm water and washed the area and it worked like a miracle. Be sure to get the BAKING SODA and not any other, and you can find it in any grocery shop.

Good Luck!

you don't have to go to the doctors, go to the drug store and get some Monistat 7 and follow directions, I start getting yeast infections when I used these perfume powers and such so I had to stop doing that, I hope this helps,

you need to see a doctor or the gynecologist. It best to let a doctor determine the type of infection and prescribe the right medicine.

please go to a doctor and see about it. it could be a yeast infection. if that is the case you could get meds from the drug store to treat it. it's not going to go away on it's own, or with soap and water. better to be safe than sorry
