Actually, he owns half of the publishing rights to most of the Beatles' songs. Sony paid $95 million in 1995 to form Sony/ATV, a 50/50 deal with Jackson's company. McCartney and Lennon's estate still get 50 percent of the songwriter's royalties to the Beatles' songbook.

Its true. It was big news when it happened. Thats how shoe companies and other commercials are able to play Beatles songs (which The Beatles never wanted)- because Michael Jackson bought the rights to the songs and, of course, markets off them.

Sorry but Jacko owns the rights to the songs and Sir Paul McCartney owns the rights to the Jackson songs, it was a paper transaction to protect both groups music.

Yes and he was friends with one of the beatles who was working hard to buy it back....Micheal jackson, knowing he wanted it back went and bought it...and not as a gift for his struggling pal,but for himself...what a jerk.

it is genuine. Thats why you hear "Revolution" getting used to sell Nikes. Paul grew to become into disenchanted while Michael outbid him for the rights.they had merely recorded "Say Say Say" mutually In an interview top after MJ bought the rights, paul reported that michael reported "Its no longer something very own, merely employer."
