Because aside of all of the complaining about the government and this country that I am hearing - seems like some of you would rather live in another country.

Ane if the government and this country has let you down in some way or another at least you have the power to make a change.

You Libs out there seem that the Republican society is closing in on you when in reality it is the ebb and flow of political differences.
Why else do you see people climbing over each other to get into this country ?

It would be interesting to see how one would be treated by a government at the first sign of someone lashing out either the Govt. or the leader.

First of all, you're grammar was the first sign that you were conservative.

Second, even though I think that currently the US is at relatively low point since our rise to being the world hegemon in the mid-80's, the US is the ideal country to live in. You could argue that there are plenty that would be just fine, but really as troubled as the government is, there is no doubt we still are the best place on earth to live.

In 35 years or so, I might change my answer.

Many European countries blow the US away in terms of quality of life, and I don't mean according to standards of GDP or average income. I'm considering the cultural and social environment of the country. North America in general is heading in the wrong direction with regard to its prevailing economic conditions on many fronts. The society is structured to feed the big corporate interests and the majority of the population are nothing but pawns in the process. How about North America's lack of concern for the environment or its enormous and unsustainable level of conspicous consumption. A place that champions the pursuit of wealth will naturally degrade over time in all other issues concerning humans' welfare.

If i'd desire to locate a place with great cycling interior the summertime and snowboarding interior the iciness, that's the top of it. extremely if i'd desire to locate a activity in yet another English speaking united states with a temperate climate, you redneck retard biblethumpers would desire to kiss my **** so long....

I love America. It was the birthplace of freedom, and still has more freedom than any other country in the world. We are the "brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world." (Pres. Bush, 9/11)

May God Bless America.

People want to get into the USA because they are poor and the USA has grabbed a large slice of the world's resources.
Don't imagine that your corrupt society is admired by the rest of the world.

Please don't think intelligent people want to live in America.
The people scrambling across the Rio Grande are peasants, faced with no other choice than to starve.
If these peasants had any money, they wouldn't leave the safety of their own country for such a brutal, aggressive nation like the US.

The recent elections (In which the Republicans got their butts completely and thoughly kicked) and the fact that Dubya's approval ratings have now sunk to an abysmal 30% (spead evenly among Bible-thumpers, illiterate Texans and ex-cokeheads) clearly indicates that "the Republican society" is closing in on no one but themselves. But to answer your question (not really necessary, since it is really just another Conservative rhetorical exercise in "everyone-who-disagrees-with-me-is-scum" zaniness, but I'll indulge you nonetheless. You Cons need an occasional injection of sanity). The only way to accurately respond would be to live in each country for an extended period of time and then to compare that to one's time spent in the U.S. Outside of the obvious trouble spots (Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, et al), there are many lovely countries on our beautiful blue planet. (Remember it? Earth? The planet that you Cons are trying to destroy before the Rapture?) Our nearest neighbor, Canada, has many excellent qualities (including universal health care and a strong economy) that make it very attractive. Switzerland is very, very attractive, as is the newly-revitalized Spain and most of the Scandanavian countries. (On a personal note, I've visited Holland several times and find it absolutely enchanting each time.) Many countries in South American--especially Brazil, Venezuela and Bolivia--are very intriguing. Of course, since most of my friends and family currently live in the U.S., I'll probably stick around here for awhile since it's a pretty nice country that happens to be currently run by a certified nutcase and his blood-thirsty henchmen.Oh, sure, it would be even nicer if you Cons would refrain from destroying our beautiful national resources, eviserating our Constitution, relentlessly persecuting minorities, killing abortionists, pimping for corporate fat-cats, flushing our tax dollars down Middle East sewers, polluting our seas and skies, blowing up government buildings and pounding us over the head with your Bibles, but --HECK!--that's what Conservatives are for, isn't it? Yes, I think I'll stick around for awhile--it's fun to watch the Cons have their hissy fits as their nasty little empire crumbles around them. Ciao!
