It depends. If you are on a 21 day pill cycle (no placebos) your period should start anytime in the week following your last pill. If you are on a 28 day pill cycle (the last seven are placebos) your period should start anytime during the week you take the last seven pills. Keep in mind it can take a month or so for your body to get 'in sync' with the pills. Light discharge prior to your period is common. If it is not bright red, but dark brown, it may be older blood/tissue that just did not come out immeditely. If you continue to bleed midcycle or have spotting, you need to let your doctor know. Often this means you are not on the right combination of hormones and they need to try a different type of pill. Keep in mind, as well, that your period can be more or less intense and/or long than what you experience off the pill, so a change from your 'normal' flow/duration is not uncommon.

I also use Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I usually get my period around the 4th green pill (placebo). I actually don't take the green ones (you don't have to, they're just there to keep you on a daily routine).

You will probably have to take them for several months before you know for sure how it works with your body. As you continue to take the pill more consistently, your body will adjust and you should spot less.

being pregnant is continually achievable considering not something is one hundred% effective. yet once you're on birth control, the week you're off your energetic pills and have become your era, you're literally not at any higher threat for being pregnant compared to the different 3 weeks out of the month (assuming you took your pills properly). you may want to really be at risk in case you probably did not take your energetic pill after that 7 days of placebo pills / no pills.

You should get your period when you are on your last week of pills. But, remember when you are on any form of chemical birth control you may have little or no periods. It is normal for women on birth control to just have some spotting in comparison to what their periods used to be.

When you take the placebos (The fake pills) the seven green ones at the end.

ps it's perfectly okay to spot, especially if you forget to take a pill or don't take it at the same time each day.
