im guessing the book is for preteens-young teens
so there are 2 main characters, a boy and a girl
the boy likes the art teacher
so the boy and the girl become really good friends, they do a lot together
they made like this secret place, where they go, they have to cross over a river first to get there
also, the boy buys a puppy for the girl for her birthday
later in the story, the art teacher invites the boy to go to a meusam with her. while he is gone, the girl trys to cross the river, but she fell into the water and drowns
