I usually have about 54 processes running on my PC, is that a normal range or should it be lower

It all depends on the software installed and what you have running.
The thing that must be understood is thst the fewer processes you have running, the less proccessor tome it uses and if you have too much demand on the processor you have heating issues as well as possible system hangs.

It is on the higher range. I have usually 25-30 (mostly 27-28) processes running. The normal range is between 30-40.

54 oh my I have 33 and I thought that was too many
If you have the RAM to handle it then I guess it's OK but If you are noticing some sluggishness then it's time to lighten the load

I ve got 51 running right now my other computer has 49
