Based on how much formula your baby needs, mix only what you think you'll use in the next 24 hours. Once you've mixed powdered or liquid concentrate formula, refrigerate it immediately, don't let it cool outside the refrigerator first, and use it within 24 hours.

Follow the storage directions on the can of liquid formula once you open it. Some companies recommend covering the can and using the remaining formula within 24 hours; others suggest using it within 48 hours.

If your baby doesn't finish a bottle of formula within one hour, toss out the remainder. Bacteria from his mouth can seep into the bottle, contaminate the formula, and make your baby sick if he drinks it later.

Tip: To prevent waste and save time, mix a large batch of formula in the morning and divide it into bottles of 3 or 4 ounces that you can refrigerate and use throughout the day.

Most formulas will tell you that if left out and unrefrigerated it will last for no more than 2 hours. If the baby has started to eat from the bottle, then throw out the uneaten remainder after 1 hour from the start of the feeding, but still no longer than 2 hours since it was made.

Baby formula should only be out for 2 hrs max. Normally food can be left out for 2 hrs and then refrigerated but this is not the same with formula. If it is out for 2 hrs toss it. Also, make only what your baby will eat at one time. Never store the last couple of ounces even in the frig after the baby has had half the bottle. It is way better to have to make another ounce or 2 for baby then to store a half used bottle or have to throw out any extra. It is to expensive to make to much and have to toss and to prone to bacteria to store. BLessings

If it's unused by baby, it will keep in the fridge for 24 hours.

If baby has used part of the bottle, do not keep the remainder. Throw it out. Bacteria begins to form in the bottle within 10 minutes.

when u prep a bottle and keep it the fridge u have 48 hours to use it, when it is left out u have about 4 hours and once the baby has drank from it u have no more than 2 hourd(due to saliva getting into the bottle while baby is drinking from it)

PS
Check your Formula...it should say on the back...

I usually prepare my son six to eight bottles of formula ahead of time. As long as it is covered and refrigerated it is good for 24 hours or read the instructions on the can when you make it.

2 hours if not put back in the fridge, but my can of Nestle Good Start says " discard unfinished formula after feeding", so don't bother putting it back in the fridge I guess. Also the can (if powdered type) has to be used within 1 month of opening it.

You should throw it out after about 2 hours. But if the baby won't drink it, you can put it in the fridge and warm it up in hot water.

I wouldn't keep it much longer than about 2-4 but as long as it's in the fridge.
