Some amount of self-discipline, for one. Depression doesn't disappear overnight, nor does it even improve overnight. If people would do a "makeover" on their lifestyle and habits and follow the right kind of schedule with a balance of work to recreation and relaxation for about six weeks for many people this will improve depressoin.
This is a combination of eating three healthy meals a day without eating to excess, drinking plenty of water, exercising, reading, working the right amount, going to bed and getting up at the same time each day with the right amount of sleep, planning activities with other people, constructively addressing problems that are making you feel down in a positive way, trying to keep from thinking negative thoughts, using positive re-inforcement to keep yourself feeling motivated.... and reminding yourself that improvement will take some time but will happen if you follow the right lifestyle every day and keep with it.

You don't say how long you have been on the St.Johns Wart,B12 and others. It could take a little while longer. However you could be suffering from clinical depression. You may need to see a Psychiatrist. You could also be helped by talk therapy with a psychologist.Just give what you are taking a little more time. If that doesn't work then seek Medical help. Good luck!

Are you already taking a good multi-vitamin? That is the first step. Something that you would truly absorb (go to an actual vitamin store - not the grocery). Then add a B-complex. Try the lowest strength & work your way up to 100 mg strength. B12 is more for energy and taken alone is not really that effective unless it is injected. If you want to add more of a B for depression, you can add Panthentic Acid. That is the B geared more for depression.
Herbs are tricky. Unless you take the extract, you are not getting a very consistent dosage even then it can still be somewhat inconsistent.
Also, exercise is another natural way to lift your spirits.
Good Luck! I hope my answer helps! :)

Try Complete B with c vitamins or Vitamin B 6. everyone gets depressed sometimes. If you have had symptoms for more that 6 weeks have lost your desire to interact with people, or feel suicidal, PLEASE GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL HELP! Call the suicide prevention line in you phone book or 911. If it's not that severe, make an appointment with your doctor or get areferal for a therapist. Meanwhile, excersize, meditation and prayer are all good for your mind and body.
I am a Christian and have been on meds for depression for over 20 years. I pray and I believe God gave us meds and doctors to help us. So don't give up! good luck.

It can take up to six weeks for St Johns to start working, so if you started it recently, wait and see if it kicks in. If you're suffering from anxiety, you could take kava...but google it and read the studies about liver troubles and decide for yourself.
I've found that a combination of st john's wort and green tea extract work well for me.

It depends on the severity of your depression. Exercise is essential since it boosts seretonin levels in the brain (the "feel good" chemical). You might also want to try aromatherapy -- the scent of jasmine is great for helping with depression. Also, don't discount good nutrition and plenty of pure water.
