I am currently rereading book 6 and I came across something that lead me to a new theory.

After Ron is poisoned in Slughorn's office, Harry and Hermione run into Hagrid outside the hospital. Hagrid lets it slip that he over heard Snape and Dumbledore arguing - that Snape was telling Dumbledore he didn't want to do it any more.

Fast forward a ways when Harry and Dumbledore are talking about the prophecy and Harry learns that Snape was the one who heard the prophecy and related it to Voldemort.

I think most people would reasonably agree that Dumbledore had an agreement with Snape that Snape would kill him - perhaps in the event that certain circumstances were present or at a prearranged time and place.

But I think that maybe Dumbledore was feeding Harry's hate for Snape to help ensure Harry would look for Snape once he killed Dumbledore. And that once Harry went looking for Snape, he would help lead Harry to Voldemort.

I do believe Snape is good, and that the argument between he and Dumbledore wa sthat Snape didn't want to go through with killing Dumbledore. However, I do think Dumbledore is dead. Snape's unbreakable vow with Narcissa required that Dumbledore die. If Draco failed to kill him, the Snape had to do the job. That means that if Dumbledore didn't die, Snape would have broken his vow and died himself. Besides, JKR has stated publicly that Dumbledore is dead and won't be returning. I know she likes red herrings, but if he returns, then she would have told a baldfaced llie.

This theory of yours interests me but as mentioned, only time will tell if its true. I personally think Dumbledore is dead being buried and Fawkes flyin off n all but his portrait is in the headmasters room so Harry should still be able to talk to him right?
JK Rowling never mentioned not being able to talk to people just because they were dead now did she?

its mentioned several times in the book that no one can be brought back to life, and its plausable and probable very likely that there was some kind of agreement between Snape and Dumbledore for Snape to kill him, though I doubt Snape would be willing to help Harry seeing as how he hates Harry just as much as James. And even if Snape were to help Harry, I doubt Harry would be willing to accept it.

Last - my theory? is that Harry will definitely die: most probably in the second last chapter, maybe even third last, why else would it be the last book.

I believe Snape is good, but think Dumbledore is dead. I think he and Snape had some kind of agreement that Snape would kill him if he was weak or in too much pain.

One of the other theories I believe is that Harry is a Horcrux. I think his scar may be an indication of that. I believe Voldemort hid a part of his soul in Harry in an attempt to remain immortal. I think that Harry will die in the final book.

YOU GOT IT!! My interpretation as well. And I don't believe Dumbledore is dead. But away plotting the final confrontation, and Snape is still on the good side, just did that to prove himself to Dumbledore and the rest of Voldemort's followers.

Of course the other thought I have is that Dumbledore has been in cohorts with Voldemort all along, but playing the game as Harry's friend to lead him to Voldemort's hands, but Potter always seems to escape.

But I think the first idea is probably closer to true. But we could all be surprised at the end still.

i havent thought about that but then again its really possible. i cant imagine that snape is evil and when dumbledore said at the end 'severus please', that could be a wish for death and not spare his life. i dont know, everything looks possible and impossible at the same time. i think that dumbledore was too weak to continue and ordered snape to kill him. on the other hand, harry is all alone now, it was really cruel for him to watch dumbledore die in front of him, dumbledore could have warned him or at least give him a hint about snape and his assignment. i cant wait for the book!

Snape's past should be revealed (now wouldn't that be interesting), we'll know more about Lily Potter, we'll understand once and for all why Dumbledore's death happened (betrayal? or like you said, an arrangement?), Voldemort HAS to die... come on it's been so long, I think Ron will die (Harry has lost his parents, his godfather and now his beloved headmaster...)... there will be a love story between Ron and Hermione, and we'll see the Malfoys repent their alliance with the Dark Arts.

I think that Dumbledore is alive... My thoughts for this is because they mention alot about Dumbledores hand being really burnt and him not being able to use it.
(Wormtail, whos hand happens to be the same hand on Dumbledore that is hurt.)
Also in almost every book the mention of pollyjuice potion is some how tyied into the main plot line so I don't think it is completely unthinkable that wormtail is drinking it to look like Dumbledore.

The reason I say this is because in the front of the book wormtail stands up to Snape which he has never done before. (I think it was really Dumbledore in Wormtails body or at least someone else besides Wormtail)
2nd Is because Dumbledore in past books wouldn't let Harry off school grounds And since the "dark lord" has reappeared yet again why would he take him off the grounds then. It isn't like him at all.
3rd. He knows way to much about where that horcrux is and knows way to much about the "traps" and "dangers" of the place to have never been there before. *what would Dumbledore be doing in place where the dark lord placed one of his most prized posetions)
4th. Once he drinks the potion inside the bowl that contains the fake locket He starts crying and whining (Like wormtail would do) and saying "it's all my fault they are dead it's all my fault" Now, we all know Dumbledore as being the great "white" wizard as sort of an embodiment of "Merlin" Now, How or even Y would Dumbledore have caused someones death.. Who's death?

He was the one that conforted Prf. Migoniga about the Potters death and How would he feeled he caused it. The only one that we know that is Directed linked to the Potters death that would be so saddened by it is Wormtail.
I think that the person that was killed is WormTail and when Snape killed him it was Wormtail because it says in the book that Snape looked at "Dumbledore" with hate and discust in his eyes and we all know that Snape would never look at Dumbledore or at least the real one like that.

Also remember when Harry was placed in danger from the 4th book when his name was put into the Goblet and how Dumbledore freaked out over it and was all mad at Harry up to the point where you thought he was going to hit him or something. Well Why would he purposly place harry into a place where the dark lords part of his soul is on purpose.

My point is Dumbledore would protect Harry to the ends of the earth has he has before in many occasions. Now I don't understand Y the Dumbledore that we have gotten to know through the course of 6 books and 3 movies would purposly put Harry who is constantly protecting and helping In danger. It doesn't make sence whatso ever.

Also I think that Dumbledores Animagus form is a Phoenix.

all your theories sound plausible except for the twit that thinks the books are evil...I've only just gotten into the books and after reading the 6th book I am still in shock that he is dead...I really hope that it is all a trick to get Voldermort to come out in the open and be destroyed. I have always thought Snape was a bad guy..I think he has too many issues to be truly good and was there to spy for Voldermort. I can't wait until the final book comes out and I know every one of my copies will be read and re-read till they are tattered and torn!

Dumbledore's death is a very important key to the story whether we want to accept it or not. He had to be dead in order for Harry to face his final challenge. Harry has to accept the power that he has and as of late he has not been doing a good job at it; one time he literally scoffed at it.
Harry's power is love and used and truly believed in there is no power in hell below or heaven above that can rival it. Let us say Harry dies, which we all hope not, at least I do, there is still nothing that can rival its power, the only draw back is the one who doubts, for the tiniest bit of doubt will weaken it beyond measure, make it penetrable.

That is a perfectly reasonable theory. Only time will tell. I think that Snape really is a good guy and will die in the last book.
