my brother worked in a jewlery store for 3 years so i asked him for you. he says that your black pearls as long as they r real (whether labrotory made or cultured naturally) can survive the water easily. but what really might not is the string, they could loosen up and catch nicks on them. quick tip to see if ur pearls r real (just in case) grab a pearl close by your mouth and very carefully scrape it with your teeth in a VERY careful way as if you were kinda biting them. u want to feel the surface if its like chalk then yay they r real. if not and its very smooth surface sorry they r fake n can go into and out of the shower.

why would you want to wear jewelry in the shower? Even if the water doesnt hurt the necklace you may snag it while washing. I would say it's a bad idea.

Pearls are delicate. Soap, chemicals in the water, and other things might harm them.

If you want to take proper care of it, don't wear it there.
