Is there a way to turn off the forced jumping in Checkers. Half of the challenge is to see when you can jump and take the opporutnity, but in Yahoo! Checkers, it forces a jump if one is available... This sucks! Help!!

That's part of the strategy of checkers, forcing your opponent to make a jump he/she doesn't want to make to set yourself up for a multijump or some other move.

No it doesn't suck. It's the way the game should be played. Checkers doesn't work well unless the jumps are forced. After you play it with forced jumps for a while, you will understand why.

Nope. Sucks, doesn't it? But those are the true Checkers rules.
