dvd-r?????

I BOUGHT SUM DVD-R'S BUT MY COMPUTER DOESNT DETECT THEM!!!!

Depending on the type of DVD burner you have, it may not be compatible the the -R types, & requires the +R types.

Have you successfully burned a DVD before on this unit ?
Can it read & play DVDs at all ?

Please add the model of your burner to "additional comments".
