I try to find something to keep myself busy. I work in retail. Sometimes its slow, and there aren't many customers, and all of my other work is done. If I'm bored, I find something to organize or I just clean up. It makes me look good to my boss, since there are other people where I work who just stand around and talk when its slow. That's probably not the best way to handle boredom, if you want to keep your job.
If I AM busy, but the work is boring, I sing a song in my head, or I daydream about something more interesting.

Think about getting out of the boring job and into the job you would like. Then think about what you would have to do to get that job. That would speed things up.
