The sound coming out of the headphones is terrible and I've tried different headphones. Parts of songs are barely audible and there is static. Anyone know how I can fix this? And I've tried reformatting.

restart, you have to find out if its the headphones, the songs or the ipod. Try original ipod headphones. And see if the songs play well on your computar. hope this helps

If you have a warranty on it, get a new one, if not take it to an electronics specialist and get it fixed.
