i find it harder to let go of the past. seems like however many times i open a new window, the draft of times past pulls me back in.

Saying good-bye to the past.
Many of us hold on to the past for a very long time. The worse the past, the longer the impact. The future comes rushing at us like a speeding freight train. If we refuse to great it, it runs us over.

It is harder to let go of the past because memories at sometime or another tend to replay events in your head that you might have enjoyed or regreted. For example, if you had a friend that may have died you might remember exactly where you were when you heard it or you might remember some of the fun times you had. The future on the other hand is unknown, therefore full of hope.

I'd say harder to say goodbye to the past. You already know what happened, and whether good or bad, but particularly the good, it's always hard to let go of it, because they were such great times, and the future is going to happen whether we say hello to it or not, and let's face it, the future is uncertain!

I think i'm learning that I can't say goodbye to the past, it will never leave me. It has imprinted itself in my mind and heart. Therefore, I must try to just move on and recognize how the past has taught me invaluable lessons. I AM a better person now. I have my past to thank for that. By remembering the past, I won't ever slip into the same madness again.

It is harder to say goodbye to the past becasue it has already occured and you MAY feel guilty. But the future you do not know what happened so you are LESS remorseful
