ok i am expecting my newborn son to arrive on march the 7th and im going to get a tattoo to remember this day of his birth. i decided on getting both his footprints with his name above them and his birthdate and time of birth under that, the problem is i am thinking of maybe adding a poem or quote somewhere in the tattoo that would be good for the birth of my son, you know like a poem or quote that marks the occasion or shows the love of my newborn son, id like it to be a paragrapgh or shorter, even a one liner if it is good, but i am clueless of any good poems or quotes that i could use. if you know of any that are published or you can make one up can you plase share it with me? this is very important to me so any help is appreciated. thanks.

Your spirit was nourished from above, you are a child of royalty.
A precious gift entrusted to my care, to cherish and protect.
I pledge my heart and soul to you, throughout eternity.

Blessing to you and yours, congratulations on the upcoming birth of your precious gift from the universe.

Here's a great poem from a dad to a son:
[IF]

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

Here's a great poem about parents and kids.

They F you up, your mom and dad.
They don't mean to, but they do.
They fill you with every fault they had
And add a Few, just for you.
But, they were F'd up in their town
By old fools in floppy coats
Who have the time were soppy stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man passes on misery to man,
it deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can.
And don't have any kids yourself.

Well, the poet, Phil Larkin, is a downer.

The most important thing is to make sure your son gets human milk on demand, is held whenever he wants it (babies brain cells only form connections when babies are held!), sleeps with his mommy and not in a crib, and never ever has to endure the nightmare of day care, which hurts a child emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially.

This is what will show the love for your child. Making sure he gets what he needs. Mommy's arms, mommy's milk, mommy's near constant availability for the first several years of his life.

this is probably the cutes poam about childbirth but its a bit long

once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. so one day the child asked god "they tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am i going to live there being so small and helpless?"
and god replied, "among the many angels, i chose one for you. she will be waiting for you and will take care of you. on earth your angel will sing for you and will smile for you everyday, and you will feel your angel's love and be happy."
"and how am i going to be able to understand when people talk to me?"
"ypur angel will tell you the most beautiful words you will ever hear, and will teach you how to speak."
"and what am i going to do when i talk to you?"
"your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"who will protect me from any dangers on eath?"
"your angel will always defend you, even at the greatest risk to her."
"but i will be sad because i will not see you anymore."
at that moment there was much peace in heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child said softly:"oh god, i am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."
"your angel's name is not important. you will simply call her mommy."

congrates.

I love the song "Forever Young" by ROD STEWART it talks about your child and has a lot of cute lines in it that you could use like "I am right behind you win or lose" and of course the tittle of the song. I also like this three words (painted them in my kids rooms)
DREAM, LAUGH OFTEN, LIVE .

I wrote this for my son when he was born... it's a little long, but maybe a part of it would work? congrats on your baby!!

Little One
You leave me at a loss for words,
you take my breath away.
You take me by such great suprise,
you leave me all amazed.
I look upon your sleeping face
and say a silent prayer-
Thank God for you, you precious thing,
You are my little one.

"Now I lay you down to sleep
I pray the lord your soul to keep
Angels watch you through the night
Until you wake to morning light."
Amen.

=) Best of luck!
