Best way might be to reformat it with XP in this case and to go to www.hp.com and download the appropriate drivers for your model.

Reformatting will require steps from:

http://www.windowsreinstall.com

The drivers for the computer should be on HP.com... I was going to get the you right page but the model number you gave me was for the 15 inch monitor? According to the HP website anyway.

Try http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers and put in the computer type and model number as it is shown on the tower of the computer. Your correct drivers should appear. Download these and burn them to CD to be ready for then the install of XP is done.

short answer.... unless it has a recovery partition (which you would find under my computer, it will say recovery) you can't. However, if it has an authenticity code on it for Windows XP, you can borrow anyone else Windows XP disc (from microsoft, not from Dell, etc) and install it from there for free. If you get one (make sure if your sticker says XP Home that you get a disc that says XP Home, not XP Professional), email me at cappii01@yahoo.com, and I'll tell you exactly how to do it.
