For me it's the 80's. A lot of it is nostalgia, but really they just had better music back then. The pop stations played pop music and not hip-hop like they do today.

Not all of the 80s, though. More like 1977 - 1987, then it went south will all the commercial junk and sellout versions of Duran Duran and "Spandex Ballet" and - forgive me, Lard, for I'll mention the unholy vomit-inducing words - Flock of Seagulls. Even Bowie was crap at that time, cheezying Tonight with Tina Turner.

I'd have to say the 70s for rock
The 80s for pop and r&b
The 90s for hip hop
