My whole life has revolved around Mario. During my toddler years, I would run around, eating magical mushrooms dressed in overalls, a red cap and white gloves. I grew a moustache in fourth grade, and have been trimming it everyday so that I look like the beloved shroom-eating, smiling italian stallion.
But what happened to the guy? He's gone, vanished forever, along with all my hopes of meeting him. I've gone to every E3, every event, and he's always eluded me. Some day I will find him, someday I will meet him and then I will make love to him.
But where is he?

He's fixing pipes dude. Luigi got married and is now a father to three lovely, mustached children and Mario lost his going out buddy. As a result, he threw himself into his work (accumulating quite a bit of coinage in the process - that's on top of all of those coins he and Luigi jumped on back in the day). The future looks bright for good ol' Mario. With all of those 1 ups he's gotten over the years, he'll never die AND has that stack of money to comfort him. Down the line, I see him and the Princess getting together. No evidence of attraction there, just a sense I've got.

Well, he's still around... but in just miscellaneous (crummy) game genre like parties and sports.

i think mario still has games out, on those pc nintendos. I don't see it on regular games anymore,though.
