i wanna here what you think on something. How do you know God really exists? we grow up in a society were 2+2=4, but if we were to grow up in a society were they said 5+9= 1 then we would believe them because we wouldn't have anything else to show that there is a difference, but what if we are living a lie, we have grown up in this to society that says God is real, if we were to grow up somewhere else that said God didn't exist then we would believe them and say that anyone else who differs is talking crap. So to some up how do we know he really exists and that it isn't the society filling our heads with a load of crap. For me i believe in God but i wanna here what YOU think on all of this.

I think you are about to hit a record for answers, and the thumbs will be FLYING on this one...

I agree with you for the most part. I have many questions on the subject, and I would like to see proof.. its a huge conversation in my house.... one on either side.

I want to see.. and not in flowers blooming, babies being born... I need something more concrete that cant be explained by science.

Man I could be here all night typing, so I will end this now...

I think unfortunately the idea of God has been used and abused SO MUCH, that who can really trust it anymore. It has been used for so many centuries to control people. We are taught to believe in things that make sense. We as humans usually need cold hard proof to believe in something, but I think most people NEED the idea of a god. They need to know there is a higher power, so that they feel they are not alone. So they feel they have a purpose, and don't give up when things get rough(they usually don't have enough faith in themselves). Others need something that restricts them in life, boundaries let's say, or else they'll just run around doing whatever they want. Personally, I don't think it would make any sense not to have an energy of some sort from which we all come into creation. I certainly do not believe that anyone REALLY understands just yet how it all works. That's why I've chosen to believe in a religion that not only is comprised of all the positive points of all religion, but has the utmost respect for all religions. In the end, we all know in our hearts what is right and wrong. Be good to yourself and everyone/everything around you. But how could we possibly be sent to Hell and tortured for eternity for making mistakes and learning from them? And if everyone in the world was good, how could we possibly learn what WRONG really was? How would we learn at all?? We would just float through life repeating the same lives over and over again. Maybe it's just me, but I believe that EVIL is simply the lack of presence of good. So do I believe in God? I believe in something..... just more of my own personal connection to what I believe the higher power may be.

We were just talking about this the other day at work, what we are conditioned to believe. I believe in God, too, here is how I see things. I look outside at nature, how beautiful it is. I look at my animals, how beautiful they are. I look at all the good that my life has brought me, I look at family and friends. I look at my passed on loved ones, I almost passed on a couple of years ago and had an experience, I felt a presence of love and peace, was it God? I think so, I didn't actually see God, but I felt a loving presence. That was proof enough for me and it has changed my outlook on everything. I am now a better person because of it and I see God in everything. But, you have some valid points, in any case. I actually felt loved in the hospital, from a spiritual presence, so for me there is a God. :)

Each civilization has had a God or many Gods. I believe that God is the universal psychiatrist for many people. They feel they can talk to him when they are in need. The ten commandments are our rules/laws that we abide by to keep us in line and out of trouble. If some people did not have a God to believe in then there would be a lot more chaos going on. A lot of people need to believe that there is a better place to go to in the end and their hope and faith keeps them going.

It can be explained in one word...faith. Nowadays we have society telling us more and more that God is not real and to quit shoving religion down their throats. But to live life as I do (and everyone else) with all it's trials and miracles, I can't help but believe that God does exist. God is the One who carries us even when we turn our backs on Him.

God is real, because we could feel and see that there is a Supernatural being that controls all the things around us that a normal person can't do.. yes, we are taught of different things in arithmetic and other subjects, but how about the typhoons, earthquakes and other uncontrollable events? we are not taught to make those things, and no one could make a typhoon neither an earthquake..
