Of course!!! 60 Minutes or was it 20/20 had a special on these African countries that phish ppl into identity theft. I was surprised to find out that many ppl over in countries like Nigeria are trained to send these e-mails that eventually cause identity theft and cause the victim to pay into their own bank account in which their stealing from. Not only is this a very sad story, but what makes it sadder is that the ppl that they hire to send these e-mails make a monetary value of minimum wage and under in their countries, which is a value so low we couldn't even live on the streets if we made what they were making.
It's funny, they described that each victim will receive money from these companies but not the money they were expecting, in fact they would send dollar amounts just to see if the account was legit. I receive these e-mails about once a month and have been told to submit it to the FBI, but low and behold the program i watched described the FBI as keeping this low key as they can't truly do anything about it.

My advice is to mark it as SPAM and to never believe in the lost relative story or random LOTTERY winning story, some things are too good to be true. Nothing is free in this world unless you know about it well ahead of time.

There is to much evil in this world, never let your guard down, for when you do, the devil will truly show his face.

No I have never been mad at Nigeria as a country. Although many scams originate from Nigeria they are not supported by the country.

According to scopes.com although the scam often called the Nigerian scam "many countries are routinely named as the homelands" in which the requests come from.

According to the world fact book the country of Nigeria is still trying to develop a "sound foundation for economic growth and political stability" Some people in Nigeria may dishonest, but it does not represent the country as a whole.

Actually a lot of the Nigerian scams do not originate in Nigeria, but right here in the USA. A lot of them come from Holland, Italy and Spain.
When you receive one of these scams, scroll to the bottom and click on show full headers. In the form field there is an IP address. Copy and paste to: http://www.psacake.com/web/eg.asp
and see where it originated.
